Year 4 Saturn
Hello I am Mrs Freeman and I am very excited to be teaching year 4 again this year. I’m looking forward to a year of learning fun and adventure; catching dragons, meeting wolves and laughing with robots. In addition, we will be analysing different version of some well-known traditional tales. Year four’s TLC books are amazing! It will be fun to act them out and discover a world of fantastic descriptive vocabulary that we can then use in our own fictional stories.
Saturn is unique among the planets; it is not the only planet to have rings—made of chunks of ice and rock—but none are as spectacular or as complicated as Saturn's. Saturn class is going to be spectacular; investigating lots of different scientific questions and doing experiments to promote discovery and learning. The children will get time, space and resources to exercise their curiosity. Class discussion will take place and key questions will be answered.
As part of the Mathematic team at Hillcrest I have a special interest in Maths. My aim for the year is to prove to each and every child how easy Maths is. To teach them to have a go and not be fearful of making mistakes. To make links in their learning and to attack any Maths questions like a puzzle waiting to be solved by a budding Mathematician.
Joining us on our journey will be Mrs Clements who will support the children’s learning while encouraging independence which will promote confidence and self-esteem as well as motivation and perseverance. It is also a delight this year to welcome Miss Venables, a student teacher, onto our team, who is going to bring lots of energy and fresh ideas. What an exciting year ahead!
A Special Memorable time will be had in Spectacular Saturn!
