MP Elizabeth Truss Visits School!
South West Norfolk constituency MP, Elizabeth Truss, paid a visit to Hillcrest following an invitation from Headteacher, Mr Try, to discuss the ongoing concerns over the future of school funding.
It is the combination of a drop in income, after being hit by the new National Funding Formula and the substantial increase in costs, that impact larger schools more than smaller ones, which in turn is making the resourcing of the school more challenging over the coming years.
The visit also gave Elizabeth Truss the opportunity to view our new £4.5 million extension for Years 4, 5 and 6, as well as celebrate the successful Key Stage 2 SATs results, which were released last week.
We are incredibly proud of our high performing Year 6 pupils, who registered some outstanding results and performed significantly above national averages across all subjects.
There will be more news, about those fantastic results, to come in the weeks ahead!
